We try to provide out community with a base set of tools that allow the user to simply do what they want to do with minimal fuss. From the number of applications that are installed on the shell server, to the centralized authentication and automated updates that all of our VPSs get simply because we want our community to focus on what they do best, create. Membership is FREE and offers you either a shell server-only account, or a basic VPS server. Shell server-only access is often fine for many users who simply want to run a IRC client or some other basic services. The VPS is a virtual computer that you have full root access to, which is often the better option for people who want to test and run projects or applications.

Also keep in mind that all bandwidth limitations are set for traffic to and from CUGNet itself, all inter-system communications will not be counted against the limit.
